Elementary
Mohammadia Madrasha is committed to offering education grounded in high academic standards, supporting students in meeting their cognitive, developmental, and spiritual needs through a pursuit of scholastic excellence.
Academic Curriculum
At Mohammadia Madrasha, our curriculum is selected through a thorough review process to guarantee that students receive a high-quality education. As a private institution, we implement a curriculum and learning plan designed to help students meet Michigan State Common Core standards and benchmarks in all core subjects.
If you have any questions about our curriculum, please feel free to reach out to the Elementary Administrator. We would be delighted to arrange a meeting to discuss our curriculum and explore ways we can collaborate to support our students.
Differentiated Instruction
Mohammadia Madrasha is dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of all students. We offer tailored coursework, challenges, and support to accommodate both our high achievers and those requiring additional academic assistance. Support for our students may be provided through the following methods:
Resource & Support
At Mohammadia Madrasha, we have an elementary resource and curriculum coordinator, along with teacher aides, to provide math and reading support for our 1st to 5th-grade students who are performing either above or below grade level. Decisions regarding services are made collaboratively by teachers and the coordinator. Support can be arranged to “push in,” allowing assistance within the classroom, or to “pull out” students for targeted skill development in the resource room. Our classroom teachers also offer additional support in reading and math. Our objective at Mohammadia Madrasha is to ensure that students receive the necessary interventions to meet grade-level standards and excel beyond them. During our Literacy and Math blocks, students working at or above grade level engage in assignments and activities designed to promote deeper learning. This is achieved through small group instruction, one-on-one support, centers, re-teaching, and retesting.
Interventions
Our daily schedules include designated intervention time for students who are performing below grade level. This time is dedicated to one-on-one support for students with gaps in their foundational reading skills and comprehension. During these interventions, we also conduct progress monitoring and focus on targeting one specific skill at a time. All students facing challenges receive tailored interventions and practice in the necessary skills to address their gaps. Through these interventions, we assist our students in practicing and applying skills individually before administering any assessments.
Textbooks and Instructional Materials
Textbooks and other instructional materials are provided for students to use in the classroom. Students are expected to take care of the materials and supplies they utilize. Textbooks and/or materials may also be sent home with students. If any books are damaged or lost, students will incur a fee. Additionally, students will be charged for any books or materials that are not returned. The administration will evaluate and determine the replacement costs for all damaged items.
Homework
Homework serves as an extension of classroom learning, allowing students to apply the skills and concepts they have acquired. We encourage parents to emphasize that completing homework is the student’s responsibility. Assignments will be given regularly, with the amount and type varying according to the student’s age and the expectations of each teacher. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s homework, please reach out to the classroom teacher. All students in Grades 1 through 5 are required to use their Mohammadia Madrasha planner on a daily basis. If family emergencies arise that hinder your child from completing assignments, or if your child frequently struggles to understand or finish homework, please inform the classroom teacher promptly so you can collaborate on strategies for student success.
